During the development phase, Hydrive Engineering GmbH was responsible for risk assessment, from defining the safety functions and designing and dimensioning the hydraulic drive system to carrying out the FMEA and providing proof of safety in accordance with ISO 13849-2. With expertise in multiple systems in the areas of hydraulic drive technology and control programming, Hydrive not only worked on the paver’s hydraulic settings, but also made necessary improvements to the paver’s control system, Siemens S7-300, as part of the commissioning process. The control system makes it possible for the paver to be run automatically, guide wire-based levelling to be realised and the generator to be controlled, for example. During commissioning, the control system was expanded to include additional functions.
To achieve the CE declaration of conformity stipulated by Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, Hydrive not only verified and validated the paver’s safety functions, but also provided all required documents, including risk assessments, FMEAs, proofs of safety, measurement reports, operating instructions, wiring diagrams and parts lists.
The concrete paver has now been working successfully in continuous operation on various construction sites for approximately six months. Hydrive offers service contracts to its customers, allowing it to respond to malfunctions within very short spaces of time via a teleservice interface integrated in the paver.
